Who I Am
I'm Jobie Bradley, a comic book artist and illustrator based in Somerset, Kentucky. Art has been my calling for as long as I can remember — from sketching heroes in the margins of school notebooks to creating professional-grade comic book covers and original illustrations.
My dream has always been to be a comic book artist, and every day I work toward making that dream bigger. Whether it's crafting a dynamic cover, teaching aspiring artists, or building a community around the art forms I love, I pour everything I have into the craft.
What I Do
My work spans multiple disciplines within the world of illustration and sequential art:
- Custom Art & Commissions — Personalized illustrations and character designs for clients who want something unique
- Comic Book Covers — Original cover artwork for comics and publications, including the Cumberland Con exclusive comics
- Illustration Academy — I run the Jobie Bradley Art Illustration Academy, teaching hands-on classes where students learn to draw their favorite characters from anime, comics, and pop culture
- Collectibles — As a self-described collectible connoisseur, I curate and sell collectibles, prints, and exclusive merchandise at conventions and events
- Convention Appearances — I'm a regular at local events including FoodStock and the Pulaski County Public Library Anime Con
My Style
My art draws from a deep love for comics, anime, and pop culture. You'll find influences from DC and Marvel superheroes, Japanese manga and anime like Dragon Ball Z and Pokémon, indie comics like Invincible, classic animation, and everything in between. I bring bold lines, vivid color, and dynamic compositions to every piece.
The "MIGHTIEST IN THE MULTIVERSE" series — a collaboration with Cumberland Con — showcases my love for epic crossover matchups and larger-than-life storytelling, pitting iconic characters against each other in dramatic showdowns.
Cumberland Con
In 2023, alongside Shane Ison of Battleworld Collectibles and Kyle Kadel of the International Paranormal Museum and Research Center, I co-created Cumberland Con — Somerset's premier paranormal and comic book convention. What started at Somerset High School has grown to fill The Center for Rural Development, bringing together comic artists, paranormal enthusiasts, collectors, and fans from across Kentucky and beyond.
I designed the cover for the special Cumberland Con exclusive comic, bringing together Cthulhu, Jason, and the Hopkinsville Goblins — a love letter to everything the convention celebrates.
Based In Somerset, KY
Somerset, Kentucky is home. It's where I create, teach, and connect with a growing community of artists and fans. The local art scene here is vibrant and supportive, and I'm proud to contribute to it through my work, my classes, and Cumberland Con.
